Thunder Flashback: A clip was shown from Thursday's Thunder of Curt Hennig challenging Goldberg to a match tonight on Nitro. A brand new Goldberg video was debuted, showcasing Goldberg's wrestling action interspersed with the live Megadeth concert from Monday Nitro a few weeks back.

Gene Okerlund Interview: Hollywood Hogan Hogan started out the interview thanking the Memphis crowd for welcoming him with such a great reception. He talked about the mystery partner tag team match later on, but then challenged Kevin Nash to come out and face him right then. The Wolfpac music started, and out came Kevin Nash, but he was not alone. Accompanying him were Rick Steiner and Sid Vicious, making this an obvious three-on-one advantage for Big Sexy. Hogan, not backing down, told Nash to come on in, and the brawl ensued. It wasn't long however, before Steiner and Sid joined the ruckus as they beat down Hollywood, kicking him unmercifully. Moments later, the crowd erupted as Sting ran in to make the save, chasing off the three big men. Nash told Hogan that he has his own partner and said the Hulkster better have his ready as well. Sting and Hogan stared each other down before The Stinger left the ring, leaving Hogan to wonder if Sting was the man he needed.

Kendall Windham and Bobby Duncum Jr., with Curt Hennig and Barry Windham d. Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis The luchadors started out fast with some high-flying maneuvers on the Rednecks. It wasn't long, however, before the Cowboys took advantage of the contest with big power moves. As Juvi was outside the ring, Curt Hennig took advantage of the situation and rocked him with a knife edge chop. Psychosis made the tag with Juvi behind the referee's back, therefore it was not allowed. This enabled Kendall and Duncum to execute a devastating double bulldog maneuver, giving them the pinfall victory.

In the back, Miss Madness was shown talking to herself in a mirror, saying that she got fired and her name is just Mona now. Madusa showed up and told Mona that they were scheduled for Sturgis and she was gonna kick Mona's butt. Madusa told Mona that she thought Gorgeous George was the reason that Macho Man fired the two of them. Madusa walked away saying she would kick everyone's butt.

Rey Mysterio Jr. d. Vampiro, with Insane Clown Posse by DQ Vampiro dominated Rey early with a malicious attack, but Rey countered with his aerial assault, forcing Vampiro to regroup with ICP at ringside. Vampiro regained the advantage for a short time, but Rey cleaned the ring of everyone, including the Posse. Mysterio went for a top rope huracanrana, but Vampiro turned it into a giant powerbomb off the top! Insane Clown Posse ran in and the three men attacked Mysterio until Eddie Guerrero came in for the save wielding a chair, sending Vampiro and ICP running for cover.

Stevie Ray d. Vincent, with Horace Hogan Before the match, Vincent got on the mic and told Stevie Ray that he could not just leave the Black and White and that he would be left lying. Stevie Rray, obviously not concerned, pummeled Vince with massive power moves. Ray dominated the contest until Horace interfered, beating on Stevie up from the apron. Horace then held Ray and, as Vince charged at them, Stevie ducked at the last minute, causing a collision between the Black and White members. Ray reached down into his trunks, pulled out the slapjack, and knocked Vince silly with it. As Brian Adams attempted to run to the ring, Ray's brother, Booker T, held Adams off, allowing Ray to get the win over a beaten Vincent.

In the back, Mean Gene stood outside Hollywood Hogan's dressing room, trying to find out who his partner would be in the big match later in the night. Sting stormed by and went into the Hulkster's dressing room. Sting came to the ring and said as President, he had a lot of decisions to make. He said there was a guy in the back who wanted him as a tag team partner. He asked the crowd what they thought and they responded with arousing cheers. At this point, Hollywood Hogan came to the ring. Hogan told Sting that he knew there was a lot of history between the two of them. Hollywood gave Sting his word that he would not stab him in the back. Sting responded by saying that he would team with the Hulkster, but if he crosses the new President, he would get him.

No Contest: Lash LeRoux vs. Prince Iaukea As soon as this match got underway, Randy Savage charged the ring, dropped his patented elbow drop on LeRoux and viciously attacked the Prince outside the ring. Savage got on the mic and called out everyone from Kevin Nash to Hollywood Hogan to Dennis Rodman. He also reminded everyone that he was running for president in 2000. Madusa came out with Mona and told Macho Man they were still a part of the team and that Gorgeous George was the cause of their firing. The ladies made their way to the ring, and George made a hasty retreat toward the back. She was backed up the aisle, followed by Madusa and Mona. Little did she know that Dennis Rodman was standing behind her on the ramp. Rodman grabbed George and ran to the back, as a furious Macho Man chased them to the dressing room area. Macho Man was seen in the back looking for Rodman and Gorgeous George.

Gene Okerlund Interview: Goldberg Goldberg came out and simply said that he knew Curt Hennig was in the back listening. He told Hennig he was next!

Evan Karagias d. Ernest Miller, with Sonny Onoo The Cat told Evan that he was in the ring with a killer, but he was giving him a chance to back out of the match. As Evan shook Miller's hand, The Cat clotheslined Karagias and started his assault. As the Cat threw Evan to the outside, Sonny Onoo got his cheap shots in. Karagias made his way back into the ring and mounted a small comeback, but was again stopped by the three-time karate champion. As Sonny got on the ring apron, Miller went for his briefcase, only to find a pair of bunny slippers instead of his patented red shoes! Buff Bagwell appeared on the ramp and distracted The Cat with the red shoes, allowing Karagous to roll Miller up and get the upset victory.

Steven Regal, with David Taylor d. Mikey Whipwreck This was a classic scientific battle in the beginning, each man showing their technical skills. Eventually, Regal took over with powerful submission maneuvers. The First Family, led by Jimmy Hart, came to ringside and told Regal if Fit Finlay wanted the Hardcore Trophy, he would have to come to Sturgis to get it. As this was going on, Whipwreck almost got a pinfall with a rollup, as Regal barely kicked out at two and a half. Regal regained the edge and as David Taylor used the flag on Mikey, Regal applied the Regal Stretch and was awarded the bout by submission.

Gene Okerlund Interview: David Flair and Torrie Wilson Mean Gene told David that he would be defending the US Title against Chris Benoit. David, seeming disinterested, responded by doing an imitation of his legendary father. In the back, Gorgeous George ran up to Macho Man and told him she had been out in Rodman's trailer, which was out back. Savage charged after Dennis, but before he could get there, security arrived and pulled him away.

Interview: Shane Douglas In a pre-taped interview, Shane Douglas talked about being able to trust Malenko, Benoit and Saturn. He said that trust is very important to him and there aren't many people you could trust these days. Douglas stated that there was a cancer in WCW named Ric Flair and now that he was in Flair's backyard, he would cut the cancer out.

Goldberg d. Curt Hennig, with the West Texas Rednecks by DQ Goldberg entered the ring to the thunderous chants of the Memphis crowd. He powered Hennig around the ring, much to the crowd's delight. The tide was turned when Bobby Duncum threw in the cowbell, which Hennig used on the head of Goldberg. Hennig then went to work on the big man, but is seemed the more Hennig hit Goldberg, the more the monster felt no pain. Goldberg thwarted an all out attack by the Rednecks, spearing each of them as they ran into the ring. Goldberg stood alone in the ring the victor and still the man.

Madusa d. Patty Stonegrinder The newcomer Stonegrinder viciously attacked Madusa, pounding her down with wicked kicks. She choked Madusa on the ropes, not letting up on her for a moment. Madusa braved back and threw Stonegrinder to the floor. Madusa then climbed to the top rope and dropped down with a flying bodypress outside the ring. As both ladies re-entered the ring, they exchanged moves and counter moves before Madusa caught Stonegrinder with a German Suplex for the win.

Shane Douglas d. Scott Putski Douglas, in his first match since returning to WCW, showed why he is one of the most technical wrestlers in the game. A solid wrestling exhibition, Douglas also showed his strength by holding Putski up high and long for a vertical suplex. Douglas, sensing victory, delivered a devastating piledriver. Surprisingly, Putski kicked out at two. Douglas, however, continued his attack and finally ended the match with a fisherman's suplex.

David Flair, with Asya and Torrie Wilson d. Chris Benoit Despite the fact that Dad Ric was not in the arena to aid him, David entered the ring confidently because the referee, Charles Robinson, was there to protect him. Benoit went after Flair immediately, legtripping him to the outside. Suddenly realizing the immense task ahead of him, young Flair decided to walk away from the match but Robinson convinced him to continue. Benoit took Flair to the limit, landing chop after chop on Flair's reddened chest. The Crippler then slapped on the Sharpshooter and David Flair tapped out wildly. However, we have learned from the past that when Robinson referees a Flair match, he sees only what he wants to see, and he turned his back on David's surrender, allowing the match to continue. Benoit, infuriated, answered with a flying headbutt off the top rope and a Cripple Crossface to the beatened Flair. Again, Robinson refused to call the match and David was spared. Diamond Dallas Page ran in, Tag Team belt in hand, and laid out Benoit with it in full view of the biased official who counted the 1,2,3 immediately after DDP laid an unconscious Flair atop of Benoit. Post match, Dean Malenko ran in and attacked Page but the Triad was out in full force and took Malenko down. Enter Saturn and the brawl was on. As the Triad and Benoit, Malenko and Saturn brawled in the ring, Shane Douglas came to the ring and helped clear the ring of the Triad. As the Triad and David Flair's entourage fled, Douglas, Benoit, Saturn and Malenko stood triumphantly in the ring.

Rick Steiner d. Chase Tatum Television Champion Rick Steiner proclaimed himself as the "new bully on the block," then proceeded to show the world that he was exactly that. Despite his size and physique, Tatum was no match for the vicious Steiner who went after the rookie full force with punches and face rakes. Stunning Tatum, Steiner threw him from pillar to post allowing virtually no offense by the No Limit Soldier. A Steiner belly to back suplex and a top rope bulldog was all she wrote as Steiner quickly got the pin on the newcomer.

Kevin Nash and Sid Vicious d. Hollywood Hogan and Sting Who would have ever dreamed that Sting and Hogan would be on the same side and work together as a team? After stuffing Sid's mouth with his bandana, Hogan punched the big man several times but was met with a painful inverted atomic drop. Hogan, limping noticeably, took it to Sid while Nash and Sting fought on the other side of the ring. A double clothesline off the top rope by Hogan to Sid and Sting to Nash stunned the big guys and made the two that much more dangerous. Nash gave Sting a pair of snake eyes he won't soon forget but Sting revived and cleared the ring of Big Sexy then scoopslammed Sid Vicious. Sid's massive knees to Sting's chest painfully thwarted a body press by Sting. Although Sting and Hogan acted like a cohesive team, Hogan was knocked off the ring apron and a desperate Sting was left with no one to tag in when he finally got the opportunity. Despite this, Hogan made his way back up and sting finally was able to make the tag. As the four men broke loose in the ring again, Sting accidentally splashed the referee between himself and Sid while splashing Sid. Enter Rick Steiner, the new bully on the block, who attacked Sting with a steel chair. Steiner then tripped Hogan from the ring apron, allowing Nash to slam his former nWo ally with a chair. Nash jumped on Hogan for the pin and, the ref, who was just beginning to stir and saw none of the interference, counted the pinfall and awarded the win to Nash and Vicious. Goldberg quickly ran in to aid Sting and Hogan but was immediately and brutally attacked by Steiner who swung the metal chair, hitting Goldberg several times in the back and legs, as Nitro went off the air.
